Its not uncommon to see these RH axle shafts break or get damaged during high load or extended service use. We see commercial, race and pulling trucks break these quite often.
The axle you receive is USED and may differ slightly from the picture. Bearing surfaces and spline conditions vary. These parts were removed from known good, operating cores. Its always best practice to replace bearings, snap rings, friction rings and seals during any major service.
