Todays high RPM Duramax's reek havoc on the OE valvetrain. Increased spring pressures and high lift cams add tremendous stress to the OE rockershaft. DHD recommends upgrading to Mantons 4130 shafts to help limit deflection and breakage. As an added benefit, these ultra strong shafts have improved oiling characteristics for the rocker arm pivot itself, which frees up power and reduces wear tendencies.
