DHD Dualoy 20 Over Delipped L5P Duramax Piston Set 2017-2024 6.6L

The race to produce a dependable oversize replacement piston for the L5P engine platform is over! The availability of these pistons opens the door for L5P engine rebuilding and customization. 

This delipped Duramax piston set from DHD is an excellent alternative to OE replacements. Our delipped piston sets utilize a UEM Dualoy piston with high strength steel top ring carrier. Each piston is CNC delipped and comes with wrist pin, c-clips and rings.

For years DHD has been delipping LB7 pistons as a cost effective and safe way to increase the durability of OE castings. Removing the thin overhang within the bowl of the piston eliminates the shelf where most piston cracks begin. The success of this alteration can be seen in our Budget Hooker engines. 

In addition to the delipping process, each piston face has had .005" milled off to correct piston protrusion on blocks with deck machining. Making these corrections on the piston face typically allows for use of grade C gaskets. Always measure piston protrusion before selecting a head gasket.
