Over time, the water in fuel sensor (WIF) can become brittle or damaged from improper removal. Its not uncommon to find the wires broke off or corroded, inhibiting sensor operation. Damage to this sensor could prevent the water in fuel light from coming on and warning you of potential fuel system problems.
This is an OEM GM replacement.
DHD always reccomends using genuine replacement parts.
