This is an air filter cleaner for LMM Chevrolet Trucks. It has been modified for better airflow. This original GM filter will flow plenty of air for even the largest of turbo upgrades. There is no need for any aftermarket air intake system once this modification has been completed.
Is your vehicle’s air filter box broken? If so, then you have come to the right place for a replacement. The air cleaner housing assembly is not a part that requires regular maintenance or replacement. However, since it is made of plastic, it can crack from pressure or extreme environmental conditions. Sometimes air boxes can break when changing the filter. This can happen when the person performing the maintenance does not know where all the bolts are or exactly how the box comes apart, so they may try to force it open, effectively breaking the box. Improper installation may also lead to broken closure clips or stripped screw holes, as well as to over-tightened mounting bolts that can cause the area around them to break. Lastly, due to its location in the engine bay, they are often broken when the vehicle is in an accident.
Breaks and cracks in the air box can disrupt the air flow, which can lead to rough running and poor fuel economy. A broken air box can also allow unwanted dirt and contaminants to enter into your vehicle’s engine. This can foul your mass air flow sensor, which is an expensive repair and/or prematurely wear out your engine, which is an even more costly repair. Therefore, if your vehicle’s air cleaner housing assembly needs to be replaced, it is imperative that you do so as soon as possible.
