That is why we at PPE, offer them for customers looking to build a true high performance 650+ rwhp diesel engine. Forged rods are much stronger and lighter than the factory units. This means that they can take more horsepower and torque load while still reducing the overall weight of the reciprocating mass. It translates into the engine produces rpms quicker. Note that balancing the rotating assembly is recommend but clearance-modifications to the block are NOT required.
